            5K CHARITY OF CHOICE EVENTS

As part of COF’s stewardship services, COF assists churches and other 501(c)(3) charities in hosting an annual fundraising event, recognizing that stewardship is best done in partnership with others. The 5K Charity of Choice event strengthens old stewardship principals and introduces new ones.

Each 5K Charity of Choice serves as a stewardship training opportunity for the Host Congregation, a fundraiser for the Host Congregation, and a grant-writing opportunity for the Host Congregation to benefit other charities, and a community outreach event.

The 5K Charity of Choice stewardship event assists charitable organizations to:

  • Align God’s resources with God’s mission and the charity’s vision.

  • Create spiritual growth opportunities.

  • Clarify and promote ministry.

  • Encourage new leadership to emerge.

  • Speak intelligently and honestly about stewardship challenges.

  • Actively and effectively address stewardship in a comprehensive and integrated manner.

  • Motivate leaders and ministry teams to partner and collaborate.
